title of this work means lost in the forest, it is a personal and symbolic artwork, i have started it in 2006 and only last year i was able to finish it. first idea was that should be chocolate everywhere but that didn't work out... last year i had a, one of those moments that suddenly it pops in lol.
basically is about a couple, they got lost in the forest, the girl protects the teddy bear, raven stands for their problems and how they are confused related to certain aspects happening within their own life. the bambis represet innocence... excused to say this was dedicated to the dearest one.

"The Tsuchigumo were a people of ancient Japan, believed to have lived in the Japanese Alps until at least the Asuka period. The name means "ground spider", likely due to perceived physical traits that were later exaggerated or embellished. A spider-limbed monster of the same name appears in some Japanese folktales, which possibly were mythical retellings of battles against these peoples. According to Japanese History, Japanese people used "Tsuchigumo" as a derogatory term for bandits and thieves, akin to the Tsuchigumo that lived under the ground and in caves."

read the whole article here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsuchigumo

anyway this artwork is supposed to depict a horrifying dream i had last year. i have let's say... a bit of aracnophobia, if i am supposed to clean a place that has dead bugs and mostly dead spiders and spiderwebs i start to scratch my body because i feel like there's spiders coming onto me. actually spiders do dig my bathroom because for like almost 5 times big furry black ones showed in my bathroom and they can stay for hours or the whole night in the same position in the end of my bathtub, i'm never capable of killing them instead i always scream for my mom because i get too horrified.
ok, going back to my dream, i dreamt that there was this huge (bigger than the ones in my bathtub) white/transparent spider crawling next to me above my pillow while i was sleeping all i remember is standing and looking at my bed i wasn't capable to distinguish a dream from reality, i got so scared that i even moved my bed searching for the spider because to me it really had happened. i was so horrified that i had to go to the other room to sleep and i had to turn the tv on and even so i was still scared and looking around lol.

my friend morten bak said i should make a black and white red spotted image... with a white kimono. course the white kimono wasn't much doable but... this is what came out. my first attempt (which is another image i have in my website atm) was similiar to this one but i wasn't able to achieve the effect i wanted... until a bit later it hit me how i should try to create this image. so i painted my face in white... and wore my sort of 'kimono'.

is a bit hard for me to paint white hair but... well i had to do it, for this one it came out easy but i think now i am able to paint better white hair, i love to paint hair lol. i did some paintover in the model too. red lines is supposed to be more of a bloodline, i've made a set of 4 from this image, 2 others are portraits, the 3rd is alike this one but more of a photo.

i called this moonchild because i kept hearing this song called moon child from M83... which is, a really amazing and deep song.

uh... i don't update my work in here for a while so i'll be most likely posting more often every month.

about this artwork, i've made it for a musician that i've been collaborating with over the past year, this is the 3rd image i did for him (more to come). it is based in one of his songs (of course...). to me.. the title itself and the image itself it is quite symbolic and gives me a religious feeling to it.

i only created this after i've came back from uk within last year, the columns were actually from a church? cathedral of some sort? that i photographed while i was there... i liked the smell the country had in there. and all the animals i could see at anytime of the day.

technical parts... i digitally painted the hair, also digital painted some other parts but it was more of a paintover, this is a mixed media work as i don't like to call 'photo manipulation' to my images because i don't think lately they are exactly photo manipulations because of all the 3d/vector and digital painting that i often use. ok... as for the red ribbons...i got many people asking me how i did them, if they were real in the photo or not, actually they aren't real, i've made them out of bandages (from previous photos i've taken) though i am pleased with them...

anyway, to hear the song you may go to www.myspace.com/lyuadust i believe the song is still there, called mary is walking.
smoke means irritation, anger, hate, sadness, depression those kind of feelings that are not positive. ravens/crows represent a couple, both have rope around their necks which represent that they're connected to each other/trapped might also represent suffocation (depending on which couple and how the personality of the person is, i suppose some ppl will understand this if they've been through such family situations or love relationships). the hole represents rotten, the heart got broken because of disappointment towards love, now the reason why i added blue as the color of the heart is because blue symbolizes true love, while red symbolizes passion, which well passion and love are quite different feelings but they can look very similiar to each other, which most of the times people make mistakes because they can't distinguish passion from love. bleeding coming out of the hole cuz yeh, heartbroken, heart bleeds internally, so since the person is getting rotten inside it starts to be shown outside because love can damage your health. hands mean suffocation, anxiety, trap, because whenever you feel this awful you feel suffocated, trapped and you have a real hard time breathing properly because anxiety comes.

i suppose some of you might be asking your own selfs why the hell i made a sort of bloody image and will say right away 'HAHAH KILL BILL INSPIRED', well in some ways yes, but mostly not. i was pretty much inspired by japanese manga, sort of gore stuff. but i made this image mostly expressing how i actually feel towards certain group of people that just make me feel enraged for their acting in some ways and how fake they actually are.
